Phillip Schofield made a surprise appearance at the National Television Awards tonight in front of his former This Morning colleagues.

Viewers were left baffled after he was seen at the star studded event just weeks after he 61-year-old was axed from the ITV programme, The Mirror reports.Phillip later apologised for his actions, calling his relationship with a much younger colleague 'unwise but not illegal'.The presenter missed out representing This Morning at the NTAs for the first time while his former co-star Holly Willoughby attended the event alone.Tensions between the pair are fraught after Holly shared her 'hurt' over Phil's 'lies' in an initial statement and later slammed her former TV bestie upon her return to This Morning before heading on a longer-than-usual summer break.Their feud appears to have continued as it was recently noticed Phil had unfollowed Holly from Instagram.Phillip was not expected to attend the biggest night in television at London's O2.
