Peter Andre has opened up about his experience of acting in a new music video about self-harm and revealed it's made him 'change his ways'.The Australian star collaborated with musician Fabio D'Andrea to portray a father dealing with his son's suicide attempt in the emotional video for Fabio's new song, Another Way.

In the opening scene, a young man called Josh is shown covered in blood, but the singer admitted it was a tough one to film as it felt close to home. "I had some personal experiences of my own in mind that I was going to draw upon but as soon as I walked into the room to film the bathtub scene, I was overcome with genuine emotion.The character of my son in the video looked as if he could have been my own son or nephew, and I immediately started crying.

It’s every parent’s worst fear of something like that happening to your child. "We hope that a video like this will help at least one person feel less alone.

I’ve already had messages from people saying it’s done exactly that. It’s an emotional and difficult watch but it was important not to sugar coat the issue so it really hits home." But one thing the experience has taught dad-of-four Peter is just how important it is to not only listen to your children, but also to ask questions about what's going on in their life.
