Alex Jones has spoken out about her future on The One Show, saying she has ‘no intention of leaving’ after having been on the sofa for 14 years. The 47-year-old made the comments shortly before her co-host, Jermaine Jenas was axed over allegations about his behaviour.

Speaking on her role on the BBC show on Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast, Alex said: "I can't believe I'm still here. I just go in, do the job and hope no one notices I'm still there.

I just love it.” Having been working on the show since 2010, Alex revealed she gets asked what she wants to do next, but she’s not thinking about that. "People ask a lot: 'What do you want to do next?

Don't you want to do a big entertainment show?' I'm like: 'What do you mean?' I'm really happy,” she said as she admitted for her, ‘longevity is key’. "All new projects are exciting and a new challenge but actually it would be really amiss of anybody to overlook the bread and butter. "All the extra bits are really fun and exciting but actually for me longevity is key,” the host said, as she said she was 'exactly where she wanted to be' in her career.
