He's out of contract in the summer and hasn't played since before the World Cup and Standard are keen to sell.It had been reported that Ligue 1 sides Marseille and Tolouse were in for him and their interest appeared more concrete than Rangers' But now journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports Michael Beale's team are in "advanced discussions" with an update expected in the days ahead.
The news comes in a potential further boost to Beale's midfield options after reports emerged earlier on Thursday that Todd Cantwell has settled on a move to Ibrox and has said his goodbyes to Norwich City.
Swansea though have rejected a second offer for Morgan Whittaker according to Fabrizio Romano so the Ibrox boss may have to wait for a new forward.
