Newcastle United could be without Callum Wilson when they host Manchester United at the start of December after the striker was forced to withdraw from international duty.

Wilson was forced off at half-time in Newcastle's 2-0 Champions League defeat at Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, having suffered a hamstring injury.

He did not travel to face former side Bournemouth on Saturday, a game in which the Magpies were beaten by the same scoreline as in midweek.

The 31-year-old was named in the England squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers. But speaking after Saturday's defeat, Howe gave an assessment of the issue that could see him out for their December 2 meeting with United.
