New Kilmarnock Tony Macaroni restaurant opens as pizza and pasta giant's latest venue unveils fresh look

Ayrshire's newest restaurant has opened its doors for the first time. Tony Macaroni finally opened in Kilmarnock yesterday afternoon more than a year after bosses were given permission to set-up shop.The pizza and pasta chain have given the former Frankie & Benny's venue on Queen's Drive a complete overhaul for the grand opening.And the brand new eaterie swung open the doors on Saturday afternoon with a low-key soft launch.Blueprints to take over the Italian-American restaurant firm's eaterie next to the Odeon cinema were rubber-stamped in June 2021 with bosses aiming to open this summer.We reported last year than as many as 20 jobs could be created at Tony Macaroni.While a provisional premises license was granted, permission for off sales was refused as the local authority has strict alcohol rules surrounding new licenses.
