Netflix urged to revive teen drama after cancellation leaves fans in limbo

Fans of the Netflix series The Society are calling for its revival after it was abruptly cancelled. The teen drama, which premiered in May 2019, was initially renewed for a second season but ultimately axed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving viewers devastated.Netflix had planned to start filming season two in late summer 2020.At the time of its cancellation, Netflix stated: "We've made the difficult decision not to move forward with second seasons of The Society and I Am Not Okay With This.

We're disappointed to have to make these decisions due to circumstances created by COVID."The streaming giant also expressed gratitude to the creators, writers, casts, and crews of the shows, including Chris Keyser, Marc Webb, and Pavlina Hatoupis for The Society.

The Society was a modern retelling of Lord of the Flies, following a group of teenagers who find themselves in a replica of their affluent New England town with no sign of their parents, reports the Manchester Evening News.

In response to a Facebook post asking which shows fans would love to see revived, viewers expressed their enthusiasm for The Society.
