A supermarket which has been most expensive for basics over the last month has slashed prices for Easter. We reported last week how, despite Tesco having seven out of eight products in our shopping comparison matched to Aldi, was still working out dearest of the six main supermarkets.
It retains that position this week, but there's some good news for shoppers as it's among a number of stores to slash the price of vegetables for the bank holiday weekend.
Among the deals at Tesco are 2kg bags of potatoes, 800g bags of carrots and a kg of onions, all for just 15p each. You can also pick up a swede or white cabbage for the same price. Morrisons has its own 19p offers running. Despite the reductions, Tesco remains most expensive in this week's comparison, which has tracked the prices of the same eight products at the six main supermarkets for the last two years.
