This is the moment a 'wanted' man who had pulled a 'gun' on officers was arrested. Images show cops restraining the man on Quay Street in Manchester city centre this afternoon (Saturday).

The man can be seen sat on the pavement, with blood coming from his head as four officers surround him. Taser wires can be seen trailing from his torso.

Police were originally called out after an alarm was activated at a business. Officers were told a man had tried to steal items from a nearby Tesco store before fleeing.

Greater Manchester Police said it was reported the man had a weapon.
