Michelle Keegan 'frustrated' over 'embarrassing' award for Coronation Street role
ok.co.ukMichelle Keegan has confessed she felt 'embarrassed' after being voted Sexiest Female 12 times during her time on Coronation Street.The actress, 36, has revealed that she felt "frustrated" that her acting skills were often overlooked due to her appearance, despite her involvement in many dramatic storylines.
During her time on the cobbles as Tina McIntyre, Michelle's storylines included those about abortion, murder and surrogacy, but it was not these that won her awards.
In a recent interview, she said: "It was embarrassing. Because I was in a lot of heavy storylines... And then at the end of it, when the accolade was sexiest female, it was so frustrating." The Brassic star added in her chat with The Observer: "And the funny thing is, I'm not sexy!
I've never been sexy! My friends have always laughed about it. Even when I say the word it makes me cringe." Michelle recently starred in the Netflix adaptation of Harlan Coben's Fool Me Once, alongisde Joanna Lumley and Richard Armitage.
