Michael Rainey Jr. & Chloe Bailey Set For New Fear Unlocked’s Horror Pic ‘Goons’
deadline.comConfluential Films has started production on the horror movie Goons in New Orleans. The movie, directed and co-written by Gerard McMurray, is set in the eerie backdrop of Louisiana cane fields and plantations, and stars Michael Rainey Jr.
and Chloe Bailey. McMurray co-wrote with Hodge K. Johnson. The pic is produced by Tommy Oliver. Goons is produced and fully financed by Confluential Films through its new genre label New Fear Unlocked Productions, which is dedicated to bold, elevated, culturally specific horror films from creators of color.
The movie is also produced in association with McMurray’s Buppie Productions. “I can’t wait for audiences to see what Gerard and I are cooking up with the kick-ass squad we’ve assembled.
I also couldn’t be more excited to kick off New Fear Unlocked with this film from such a talented director,” said Oliver. “I’m beyond excited to direct a film in the horror genre.
