In a 2022 interview, the 42 year old former actress expressed her desire to inspire young girls by showing them they can "create a life greater than any fairy tale" they've ever read.She acknowledged that many see her as a "real-life princess", despite stepping down from royal duties with her husband, Prince Harry, the Mirror reports.The couple now reside in Montecito, California, with their two kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet and have openly discussed their challenges and complaints since leaving the Firm through interviews, TV appearances and written pieces.Their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey was particularly headline-grabbing, due to allegations of racism within the Royal Family, claims that Kate Middleton made Meghan cry before her wedding, and revelations about Harry being cut off financially.

Yet even amidst these revelations, Meghan recognised her royal ties and the significance of being seen as a princess. During her chat with The Cut in 2022, the Duchess of Sussex shared: "It's important to be thoughtful about it because - even with the Oprah interview, I was conscious of the fact that there are little girls that I meet and they're just like, 'Oh my God, it's a real-life princess.'"Adding further, she said: "I just look at all of them and think, 'You have the power within you to create a life greater than any fairy tale you've ever read'.
