Discovery, dropped the launch date for Max across the first nine European countries on May 21. The standalone streaming service, which will bring together content from HBO Max, Discovery and Eurosport, will begin its European roll-out in the Nordics, Iberia and Central and Eastern Europe.
Perrette did not give a specific launch date for France, Poland, the Netherlands and Belgium but said it will “follow closely” and will happen prior to the Olympic Games which kick off on July 26.
Max will also offer a basic plan with ads which will including advertising and will be at a lower price, as well as a premium plan which will allow users to stream content in full HD or 4K on up to 4 devices simultaneously, and up to 100 downloads of content.
