Man hurt following 'serious assault' outside pub

Detectives have launched an investigation after a man was injured in a 'serious assault' outside a railway station pub. The victim was taken to hospital following the attack close to the Steamhouse pub at Urmston station in the early hours of Saturday.

Police say his injuries are 'not believed to be life-threatening or changing'. Enquires are said to be ongoing. Pictures from the scene show an area outside the pub, on Station Road, cordoned off with police tape. READ MORE: Man dies in M62 horror crash The attack took place at around 12.50am.

Police are now appealing for witnesses. A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 12.50am this morning, officers responded to reports of a serious assault on Railway Road, Urmston.

One man was taken to hospital for injuries not believed to be life-threatening or changing. "Enquiries are currently ongoing." Anyone with information should call 101 quoting log 111 of March 23.
