Jamie Laing has hit back at critics after he faced criticism for bagging his job on the BBC without having previous experience in the industry, and says he's worked hard to secure his new Radio 1 role. The former Made In Chelsea star, 35, has recently taken over from presenter Jordan North, who has moved from the BBC to Capital FM.
Some listeners have since suggested that Jamie got the job because of his celebrity status rather than his talent. Jamie has defended himself against these claims, revealing that he's been aiming for the job for eight years and was previously rejected due to lack of experience.
Fans of the station complained and pointed out that they would stop listening and boycott the network when Laing joined co-stars Vick Hope and Katie Thisleton.
But Jamie has responded to the criticism he faced during a new interview on ITV's Good Morning Britain with Rob Rinder and Charlotte Hawkins.
