Luton Town captain Tom Lockyer collapses on pitch as Bournemouth game suspended

The game between Bournemouth and Luton Town match has been postponed after player Tom Lockyer collapsed on the pitch. The Luton Town captain was treated on the Wembley Vitality stadium pitch after he went down with an apparent head injury in the second half of the Premier League clash.

His manager Rob Edwards ran onto the pitch and took the rest of his side away as paramedics rushed to the scene. A stretcher was brought out and play was paused with players from both sides sent to their dressing rooms as the Hatters defender, who remained on the ground, was treated on the pitch. Play remained suspended at the Vitality Stadium, with the clock paused at 65 minutes. His club said on X, formerly Twitter: “There’s a break in play as Tom Lockyer seeks medical attention.

We are all with you, Locks.” Lockyer, 29, suffered a health scare during the Championship play-off final back in May and had to be stretchered off.
