The former CEO at the hospital where Lucy Letby murdered seven babies went to become a director of one Greater Manchester’s biggest hospital trusts – just months after resigning during the police investigation into the killer nurse.
Hospital boss Tony Chambers resigned in September 2018 from his role as the chief executive of the Countess of Chester Hospital following Lucy Letby’s arrest in July 2018.
By December, he had already been given a director role at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, the Manchester Evening News can exclusively reveal.
It comes as Letby was sentenced yesterday (Monday) to a whole life order at Manchester Crown Court. She will never be released from jail.
