Love Island viewers have been left “disappointed” by Iain Stirling’s ‘unfunny’ and ‘inappropriate’ joke about a Nigerian Prince.

Fans of the ITV2 dating show even suggested that Ofcom could become involved after the “below the belt” gag on Tuesday night’s episode.

Iain, 35, who provides a jokey voiceover for Love Island, appeared to make reference to fraud in his “Nigerian Prince” quip.

His comment came during a chat between Islanders Mal Nichol and Sammy Root - who were discussing bee stings. Providing the voiceover for the scene, Iain said: “Mal wants to know if Sammy has ever been stung. “Well, there was that one time he gave his bank account details to a Nigerian Prince who claimed to have won the lottery.” Fuming fans took to Twitter after the joke to air their disappointment.
