Lollapalooza will be back at full capacity as Chicago’s COVID rates decline
nypost.comunplugged by the pandemic, and a year earlier than organizers once predicted it would return.The festival’s lineup will be unveiled Wednesday morning at 10 a.m., and tickets will go on sale at noon, Chicago officials said.“Here in Chicago, the word ‘Lollapalooza’ has always been synonymous with summer, great music and four days of unforgettable fun — which made last year’s decision to postpone it all the more difficult,” Mayor Lori Lightfoot said in a news release.To enter the four-day festival in Grant Park, ticket holders will need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or show a negative test result, organizers said.The festival, which began in 1991, usually attracts about 100,000 fans to see some 170 alternative rock, hip-hop and electronic.
