David Martindale pass his SFA “fit and proper person” test.The SPL club had to seek approval to make Martindale’s position permanent because he was convicted of drug and money laundering offences in 2004.But the Record can reveal convicted conman Gordon Beurskens was a key adviser to Livingston and Martindale, who had been interim boss since November.In 2014, Beurskens showed “no remorse” as he was jailed for 18 months after being found guilty of embezzling an elderly couple’s life savings.He also has a conviction for drink driving and threatening a man with a baseball bat.Last night, Livingston admitted Beurskens was key to their efforts to clear Martindale’s SFA hurdle.The club’s chief executive John Ward said: “We got a lot of support.
