Victor Lindelof thinks Manchester United were more 'aggressive' in the second half against Brighton. United drew 1-1 against Southampton at the weekend and Ralf Rangnick explained he wanted his players to be 'more aggressive' and 'more nasty'.

Those comments were made by the German in response to Paul Scholes' criticism of the Reds' players. United welcomed Brighton on Tuesday night and, while they were troubled by the visitors in the first half, they came out on top in the second half thanks to goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes, and a Brighton red card for Lewis Dunk.

Lindelof started in defence versus Brighton and he helped United keep their first clean sheet for three matches. The centre-back reflected on the United performance after the game and explained that the key to winning the game was more aggression in the second half, which was something that Rangnick had demanded from his players just days earlier. "I don't think we played that good in the first half," admitted Lindelof. "We didn't get the press right and we were a bit too deep, so we talked about that at half-time.

I think we came out in the second half as a new team and performed much better. We were more on the front, more aggressive. "That makes it easier for everyone, if we defend forward and put them under pressure because then they can't play through us easily.
