Lisa McGee, the genius behind hilarious Northern Irish sitcom Derry Girls, which launched the career of Bridgerton's Nicola Coughlan, has something new in store for us - a fresh Irish comedy/thriller.The 43 year old legend of screenwriting has her hands full with an upcoming Netflix original titled 'How to Get to Heaven From Belfast'.Touted as "a dark, dangerous and hilarious odyssey through Northern Ireland", this is already setting expectations high.

In the series we'll see The Dry star Roisin Gallagher, Unforgotten's very own Sinead Keenan and Caoilfhionn Dunne who stunned us in 'A Thousand Blows'.They'll be playing childhood friends Saoirse, Robyn and Dara respectively - all now in their late thirties, who reconnect following the death of another friend.

Looking eagerly towards this project, Lisa shared: "I couldn't be more excited to start production on 'How To Get To Heaven From Belfast'." Dishing on her characters, she revealed: "I've loved writing Saoirse, Robyn and Dara - three flawed, funny women who are about to embark on the most thrilling and terrifying adventure of their lives.

A mystery full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing and make you laugh out loud. Let's go girls! ". It was these kind of strong female leads which helped Derry Girls become the success it was, taking home not one but two BAFTAs, and an Emmy.
