Lanarkshire school pupils help release festive song

Pupils from a Lanarkshire primary school were on song as they teamed up with a local musician to write and record their own composition which has been released in time for Christmas.Youngsters from Holy Cross Primary in Croy originally helped to compose Christmas Time with Cumbernauld singer-songwriter Elaine Lennon as part of a science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) event prior to lockdown.Their track has now been professionally recorded and released for downloading, with some of the group also starring in an online video – while they have also performed live on radio and on stage with a famous face.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

It includes vocals and instrumental performances from Elaine, drums by her 11-year-old son Jamie, guitar by Glenmavis musician Adriana Spina, and was mixed and mastered at Chem19 Studios in Blantyre by Derek O’Neill.The finished song features pupils
