Lanarkshire patients urged to only use out-of-hours for urgent care
dailyrecord.co.ukPeople in Lanarkshire are being reminded that NHS Lanarkshire’s primary care out-of-hours service is for urgent care only.The health board has today issued a plea to patients, urging them not to call with minor or non-urgent problems.Almost 200,000 calls came into the service between the start of 2020 and end of May 2022, with 45 per cent handled as advice calls.While over a third (38 per cent) resulted in patients being seen at the primary care centre and eight per cent of calls resulting in home visits.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

When your GP surgery is closed and you are too ill to wait, you can access NHS Lanarkshire out of hours service by calling NHS 24 on 111.Dr Iain Hathorn, NHS Lanarkshire’s clinical director in primary care, said: “Please help us help you get the right care at the right time to ensure that those who need to use the service for urgent care are prioritised.“We understand that when someone has an illness or minor ailment they want help as soon as possible.
