“It’s always the random ones that stick in your mind,” says Tom Ogden, racking his brain as he considers the best Blossoms’ gigs to date.

The band’s Pyramid Stage set at Glastonbury 2017 is a highlight, Edgeley Park as well, and the ‘random’ nights in Hull and Aylesbury, but it was an early stop off in Tokyo that gave them a taste of things to come. “Tokyo was class,” beams the frontman. “Playing over there was amazing, we went over very early in our careers when we weren’t even really playing Manchester much at this stage, only at Gorilla really, and in Japan we were treated like The Beatles outside our hotel and just remember thinking, ‘this is mad’.” READ MORE: Blossoms at Wythenshawe Park - times, support acts, how to get there, map and parking Blossoms, the Stockport band formed of school friends Tom Ogden, Joe Donovan, Charlie Salt, Joshua Dewhurst and Myles Kellock have enjoyed widespread success.

Their 2016 debut ‘Blossoms’ topped the album charts for two consecutive weeks and went on to earn the band BRIT Award and Mercury Prize nominations.

Named after a pub on the A6, the five-piece are born-and-bred Stopfordians - and proudly so - but with four studio albums under their belt, several sold-out tours and a legion of loyal fans to boot, they’ve come a long way.
