Kyle Green was at the double as Luncarty earned themselves an impressive King Cup third round 2-1 win against league rivals Dunbar United. The Bleachers had fallen behind in the first half at Brownlands but Green netted a peach to level proceedings after the break before moving on to find the winner.

Manager Robbie Holden praised the midfielder’s key contribution.“The first half was a slow start from us,” he told the PA. "We didn’t really create much and went behind to a deflected goal just before half-time.“The second half was much better and we were pleased with the effort to draw level and then push on to get a late winner against a top side.“Kyle’s first goal was a cracker.

We had a great view of it and, as soon as he hit it, we knew it was in. To push on and get the winner is important for him and his confidence.“He is a player with tremendous ability and needs to show that he can put runs of goals and assists together.

He is a great trainer and when he is in the mood he’s a top player.”The Bleachers now travel to Lochore Welfare in the First Division on Wednesday night.Alluding to the performance of Green, Holden added: “It’s given us things to consider for Wednesday night.”Kinnoull lost out 3-1 against Glenrothes at Tulloch Park in Saturday’s promotion push First Division fixture.
