Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is the 45th and current president of the United States. Before entering politics, he was a businessman and television personality. Trump was born and raised in the New York City borough of Queens, and received a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School. He took charge of his family's real-estate business in 1971, renamed it The Trump Organization, and expanded its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan.

The company built or renovated skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. Trump later started various side ventures, mostly by licensing his name. He owned the Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty pageants from 1996 to 2015, and produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television show, from 2003 to 2015. Forbes estimates his net worth to be $3.1 billion.

Koch Network Backs Nikki Haley In An Effort To Steer GOP Away From Donald Trump

A group aligned with billionaire Charles Koch is throwing its support — and vast financial resources — behind Nikki Haley, in an effort to steer the Republican party away from frontrunner Donald Trump.

Haley “represents a new generation of conservative leaders who will solve the tough problems and lead our country forward. Her positive vision for America is what we desperately need,” Americans for Prosperity Action said in a statement on Tuesday.

Trump is still far ahead in the Republican primary, according to the latest polls, but the Koch network support could boost Haley in the two early states of Iowa and New Hampshire, providing her with some momentum in the final weeks of the race.

The Iowa caucus is Jan. 15 and the New Hampshire primary is Jan. 23. Americans for Prosperity Action already had indicated that it would endorse a candidate in the primary, but that it would not be Trump, as its slogan is “it’s time to write a new chapter.” Haley has emerged as a top Trump alternative, edging out Florida Gov.
