Kind-hearted Dumfriesshire residents send shoeboxes full of gifts to less fortunate children for Christmas

Shoeboxes full of gifts for children from kind-hearted residents in Dumfriesshire are on their way to children in Liberia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.Eileen Usher has been helping to co-ordinate activities at the drop-off centre at St Andrew’s Church in Annan and volunteers including driver, Christine Leadbeater have been out and about collecting them from individuals, schools, churches and businesses in Dumfriesshire.They have now sent them up to Destiny Church in Glasgow – the designated processing centre for all of Scotland’s donations to the Operation Christmas Child shoebox appeal for the Samaritans’ Purse charity.Local volunteers had to pack 74 cartons containing 780 shoeboxes from Dumfries and Annan.They also gave six cartons of extra
