A boss has been left frustrated after claiming a pair of chancers sprinted from her restaurant without paying.The mystery duo are alleged to have racked up a £40 bill at the Mexican restaurant in Kilmarnock and fled from the venue 'faster than an athlete'.Owner of 43 Mexican Tex-Mex and Steakhouse, Sarita Khadka, has said she often wonders if payments could be made up front despite being unviable.Sarita runs the popular Titchfield Street eaterie with husband Ujjwal, who is also the main chef.She said: "They ordered lamb chops and chicken fajita - which are our best sellers here.

After eating 90 per cent of the food they called the waitress and tried to find fault in the food as a means to get away without paying."As they had eaten everything except a few pieces of chips and couldn’t find a proper fault so they asked for the bill which was around £40.

They told the waitress that they want to rest and digest their food for a sec and then will pay. "After 10 minutes they were making a haste towards the door telling the waitress the money was on the table.

The waitress went to the table but there was nothing. We quickly ran outside and saw them running faster than an athlete."The incident unfolded during the hospitality industry's busiest days - Saturday (May 20).And the business owners claim this isn't the first instance of an alleged dine and dash with it happening on one before with a larger group failing to pay at the venue.Sarita and her husband are now trying to come up with solutions to prevent this from happening in the future.Sarita said: "I was more frustrated than shocked, as we are already having a hard time with the energy crisis and cost of living crisis and eventually if customers don’t pay then it comes out
