Kieran McDade Foundation receives prestigious King's award for voluntary service

Volunteers at a Coatbridge-based charity which has supplied nearly 150 lifesaving defibrillators to sports teams have received their prestigious royal recognition award.The Kieran McDade Foundation was named in November as one of the first recipients of the King’s award for voluntary service, described as the “MBE for voluntary organisations”.It was presented at a ceremony this week by depute lord lieutenant Derrick Hannan to honour the outstanding work of the charity, which was set up by coaches from Dunbeth FC in memory of much-loved 13-year-old player Kieran.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
