Right after Taylor‘s master recordings were sold to Scooter as part of his purchase of her former record label Big Machine Records, Kelly publicly suggested that she re-record the old music so that fans could buy the new recordings.
She tweeted on July 13, 2019, “@taylorswift13 just a thought, U should go in & re-record all the songs that U don’t own the masters on exactly how U did them but put brand new art & some kind of incentive so fans will no longer buy the old versions.” Kelly has revealed that Scooter reached out to her manager after she tweeted.
