Jeremy Kyle has spoken out, saying "my conscience is clear" after an inquest found no evidence that his show contributed to the death of a guest. The 59 year old TV personality was present at the inquest this week which looked into the tragic passing of Steve Dymond. The court heard how Dymond, aged 63, took his own life in 2019, just one week after appearing on ITV's The Jeremy Kyle Show.
During the episode, Dymond underwent a lie-detector test and faced allegations of infidelity, which he denied. Despite claims to the contrary, Jeremy told the inquest that he did not incite the audience against Dymond, stating: "Not at all I asked them to give them a round of applause." Now, after the talk show was cleared by the court, Kyle has opened up about his feelings regarding the treatment of Dymond and the final verdict in a fresh interview.
He maintains that his "conscience is clear" as the show was not held responsible for the tragic outcome. In a conversation with The Sun, Kyle reflected, "Let's not forget first and foremost somebody took their life because they were in a position where they saw no way out.
I haven't spoken for five and a half years out of respect because there was a legal process that dragged on and on for many reasons," reports the Mirror.
