Jack Whitehall's model girlfriend Roxy Horner, 31, has candidly discussed living with diabetes after being diagnosed in May 2021.The successful model had spent a long time "feeling unwell" before realising what the cause of her illness truly was.

She told OK!: "It’s been bittersweet because on one hand I was relieved that I found my diagnosis so that I could finally treat it and start to feel better again but on the other hand it is something that I have to think about every day now." Roxy has spoken openly about having diabetes since her diagnosis, and recently discussed everyday battles during Diabetes Awareness Week.

She told us it will impact her "some days more than others," explaining: "My glucose levels can just yo-yo and It can make you feel really unwell when that happens. "It’s made me terribly forgetful and I have to inject myself with insulin up to 5 times a day now so I’ve had to over come my fear of needles!" Roxy admits there are "no switch off days" living with type 1 diabetes, but she has "got used to it." "We are manually managing an organ with injections or pumps and glucose monitors that people without diabetes do naturally," she began, adding: "The way I see it is before diabetes I just had to think about drinking water when I was thirsty and eating when I was hungry but now I have to inject myself too, so it’s just an extra thing you do stay alive." Roxy admits it's frustrating when people say things to her such as 'you can reverse it,' or 'should you be eating that?' She explained: "The reality is Type 1 diabetes isn’t currently reversible, it’s an auto immune disease where my pancreas is failing, it wasn’t caused by what I am eating and even if I didn’t eat all day long my blood glucose levels.
