He also played the title character in Clint Eastwood’s 2019 film Richard Jewell. Most recently, he won a Golden Globe for his performance as suspected serial killer Larry Hall in the 2022 Apple TV+ miniseries Black Bird, opposite Taron Egerton.Speaking to Deadline earlier this year about The Movie Critic, Tarantino said the project – set in Southern California in 1977 – would be based on a real-life critic for a porno magazine.“He wrote about mainstream movies and he was the second-string critic,” the director said.
