When Joseph tells Gemma he’s under the weather and can’t go to school. But after his latest trip to A&E that amounted to nothing, she doesn’t believe him, and sends him packing.
However it seems Joseph isn’t lying when Chesney Winter-Brown (Sam Aston) is called to pick his poorly son up. And when Chesney returns home with the suggestion that Gemma ignored signs of Joseph being ill to which she takes huge offence and brands herself a terrible mother.
Later on, when the Winter-Brown’s prepare for their early Christmas, Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) advises Gemma to give Joseph some lavender tea to perk him up.
