Ireland’s Eurovision hopeful, Lesley Roy, has failed to qualify for the Eurovision final, despite a spirited and much-discussed performance last night.
The Dubliner sang the Irish entry Maps in Rotterdam’s Ahoy arena at the first semi-final. Many people praised the song and the highly inventive staging, which saw Lesley strolling on a treadmill barefoot through an animated paper cut-out of a town and woodlands.
However, it wasn’t enough to impress voters around Europe, and with the competition level being higher than ever, Lesley missed out on her spot in the final.
