'Inside Out 2' Achieves Major Box Office Feat in 2nd Week, Becomes 2024's Top-Grossing Movie in North America

Things were going so well, that it was drawing comparisons to Barbie, the top-grossing movie of 2023. With a second week in theaters, Inside Out 2 pulled in enough to overcome the closest competition for the year. Keep reading to find out more… According to Variety, the animated movie hit $285.7 million in sales in North America.
That pushed it past Dune: Part Two, which brought in $282 million. The new record-holder achieved the feat in only eight days.
The outlet noted that Inside Out 2 might manage to earn more than $92.3 million in its second full weekend. If it does so, that’ll push it past The Super Mario Bros.
