Inquest opens into death of ex-rugby league player Ricky Bibey found 'unresponsive' in Italian hotel
manchestereveningnews.co.ukAn inquest has opened into the death of ex-rugby league star Ricky Bibey, who was found 'unresponsive' on the floor in a hotel room last month.
He had been holidaying with his partner in Florence, Italy, at the time of his death, on July 16. A brief hearing at Rochdale Coroners' Court on Wednesday (August 24) outlined how Mr Bibey, 40, was found unresponsive in a room at the Hotel Continentale in the early hours.
He booked into the hotel with his partner the previous day - July 15. Police coroners' officer Bernadette Hatton said initial enquiries confirmed Mr Bibey's identity.
He who was born on September 22, 1981, in Salford, she told the court. He was living at Oswald Court, Roman Road, in Royton, Oldham at the time of his death.
