A former Tesco worker has revealed some of the funniest customer requests they came across while working as a picker for online grocery orders.At Tesco, pickers play a pivotal role in the supermarket machine, tasked chiefly with gathering the vast array of items listed in each customer's online shopping order, preparing them for dispatch.
If you work for several years as a picker, you're bound to stumble upon a selection of rather unusual requests.One ex-Tesco employee took to Reddit's r/tesco forum to share some of the more peculiar orders they've dealt with over their tenure at the store.
In a post titled "amusing orders I've gotten over the years", the Reddit user said they worked "for a few years" as a picker and thought the Reddit community might get a kick out of some of the stranger requests picked up along the way.Their post featured four photos showcasing the orders in question, complete with peculiar customer notations.
One order requested 400g of loose ginger root, pointedly asking for "fresh pieces please not old/wrinkly like my husband". Another bizarre order included an astonishing 68 cans of mushy peas - split evenly between two different brands.
