Would-be Coventry City match-winner Victor Torp has admitted he’s struggled to come to terms with his goal being disallowed against Manchester United in Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final.
The 24-year-old thought he had completed an historic 4-3 comeback for the Sky Blues in the last moments of extra-time, but was left crestfallen a minute later when VAR judged assist-maker Haji Wright to be marginally offside.
Torp stepped up to fire the ball home during the subsequent penalty shoot-out but ultimately saw Coventry denied a place in the final as United triumphed 4-2. “It's a bit surreal to think about how close we were to creating something completely magical,” the Dane told Tipsbladet.
