I'm a Celebrity is undergoing "emergency work." It was revealed last month that Gwrych Castle would host the now-relocated ITV reality series.
The estate, in Abergele, was until recently a "derelict ruin" but is in the process of improvement. The Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust (GCPT) has been working on an extensive renovation plan since purchasing the castle in 2018 - but it's starring role on I'm a Celebrity has "accelerated" this.
The work has been the subject of media attention this week, reportedly costing "millions."North Wales Live spoke to GCPT chairman and founder Dr Mark Baker about the renovations.He said that ITV has contributed to a series of "emergency works" ahead of the production.These are aimed at ensuring the castle is.
