Police have arrested a woman on suspicion of murder after a man died in what police have described as a 'targeted attack'. Officers were called to the scene in Lower Falinge, Rochdale, at 10.50pm on Monday night following a 'disturbance' at a flat.

A man in his 50s was found unresponsive on the floor and later died, GMP said. A 48-year-old woman has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A white forensics screen was stretched across the entrance of a flat on a first floor walkway in Edington, with officers stationed outside as several police cars lined the road on Tuesday morning.

Detectives were seen going door to door as the shocked community woke to the scene. READ MORE: Murder probe launched after man in his 50s dies and woman is arrested Officers were also stationed outside a ground floor address opposite the block.
