Graham Linehan took to the Scottish Parliament to perform his comedy show after two Edinburgh venues cancelled.Organisers Comedy Unleashed started their show outside the Scottish Parliament on Thursday evening after the second venue pulled out.
The original venue, Leith Arches, cancelled Linehan's show earlier this week announcing that his views did not “align” with their overall values.Linehan, 55, is best known for writing hit comedy sitcoms The IT Crowd and Father Ted.
He has been a vocal critic of the transgender community and previously said this week he was considering legal action against Leith Arches.Speaking outside Holyrood ahead of his performance, Linehan addressed the crowd: "I really didn't think this was going to happen this evening after what happened on Tuesday.
My jokes are just observational comedy. I guess the idea of me existing is just offensive to people."Linehan was visibly emotional after finishing his performance.
