Squatters have agreed to vacate a Gordon Ramsay-owned pub after lawyers successfully obtained a High Court order for the property's repossession. The group barricaded themselves inside the £13m Grade II-listed York & Albany hotel and gastropub, located near Regent's Park, last week.A spokesperson for the squatters, claiming to represent the Anarchist Association London Branch, promised they would exit the premises within 24 hours.Describing Ramsay as "the foul-mouthed chef", the statement criticised: "This swanky building has been left empty for years, even though Camden has some of the worst levels of rough sleeping in the country."It continued by expressing the rough sleepers' decision to, "Some of these rough sleepers decided to take their right to housing into their own hands."The statement also condemned the legal system, asserting: "The fact that the chef was able to obtain the order that quickly shows that the legal system is designed for the rich.

It has nothing to do with justice."Laws won't help us, politicians won't help us. They only serve the wealthy and powerful. Only we can help ourselves.

If people are not allowed to survive, they will take action to do so. All evictions are violence. But that won't stop us from squatting and we hope our actions will inspire others to take back control of their lives."Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team. All you have to do is click here if you're on mobile, select 'Join Community' and you're in!If you're on a desktop, simply scan
