Alex Ritman How does an actor authentically and respectfully embody a legendary real-life singer on screen without it being seen as tribute act? And how do they do it when so much of that person’s life as a performer — a life that tragically ended not long ago — was played out in front of the cameras, across the media, in interviews and captured on phones? This was the task given to Sara Green, the choreographer and movement coach who worked closely with “Back to Black” star Marisa Abela to help transform her into Amy Winehouse for Sam Taylor-Johnson’s biopic, which releases in the U.K. today with StudioCanal (and in the U.S. on May 17 with Focus Features).

Scary Movie franchise is due to make a comeback, according to reports that it is being rebooted.Per a report from Variety, the spoof comedy franchise – which has been dormant since the release of 2013’s Scary Movie 5 – is being revived and rebooted by Paramount Pictures, which made the announcement at CinemaCon.Like all previous installments in the franchise, Miramax will be involved in the reboot. Paramount Pictures and Miramax will also be teaming up with Fast & Furious franchise producer to Neal H.

Oasis have released an early live recording of ‘Supersonic’ to mark the 30th anniversary of the release of the band’s iconic debut single.The newly unearthed performance took place at the Limelight in Belfast on 4 September 1994, and the band had discovered shortly before taking to the stage that night that their debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’ had reached Number One on the UK Albums Chart.Now, that version of ‘Supersonic’ can be heard on limited edition physical single formats, including a replica of the original 1994 CD single, which also includes the white label demo of ‘Columbia’, and an individually numbered pearl coloured 7” vinyl. The crime-action film directed by Ryu Seung-wan (also written Ryoo Seung-wan) is a sequel to Ryu’s 2015 hit “Veteran” and in Korea goes by the title “Veteran 2.” Few details of the story have yet been disclosed, but CJ describes the film as “combining Ryu’s trademark action with observations and messages about social change.” Ryu last year enjoyed major box office success with crime comedy “Smugglers.” Hwang Jung-min, who recently enjoyed box office success in “12.12: The Day,” reprises his role from “Veteran.” He is joined in the sequel by Jung Hae-in (“Tune in for Love”) as a new member of the film’s Violent Crime Investigation Squad. “I, The Executioner” was produced by Filmmaker R & K, the production shingle owned by Ryu and his wife Kang Hae-jung, with CJ ENM as financier and local and international distributor.
