GMB presenter Ranvir Signh revealed the real heartbreaking reason she dreads New Year's Eve every year as she opened up about her dad's tragic death that rocked her childhood.

The TV star, 46, shared why she actually "hates" the New Year celebrations during Friday's episode of Good Morning Britain. Ranvir opened up about her dad passing when she was just nine-years-old and admitted that ever since, she's felt a "sense of dread" about the so-called "greatest night of the year." The GMB star gave the rare insight into her family life which she usually tends to keep away from the spotlight as the show continued it's one million minutes campaign.

During Friday's episode, viewers continued to pledge towards the show's one million minutes campaign and Ranvir told her co-presenter Richard Madeley: "It makes me really grateful that Ali is there volunteering for other families and she was supported because I never had any of that..." TV presenter Richard replied: "Was it a sudden death?" Then Ranvir took the moment to open up about her dad's death.

She said: "Yes, he had a heart attack when he was 42 years old. I was nine years old. "Weirdly, given as we're heading into New Year's Eve, it took me until about four or year years ago to understand why I absolutely have always hated New Year's Eve." Ranvir continued: "My dad died on January 21st but I never knew why I had a sense of foreboding about this 'greatest night of the year'.
