Gigi Hadid has reportedly been arrested at the Owen Roberts International Airport in the Cayman Islands after she was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The supermodel landed at the airport in a private jet with pal Leah McCarthy, and the pair were arrested after border control agents discovered the items in their luggage.
While the drug is legal for medical use in the Cayman Islands, Gigi and Leah were arrested over charges of importing the drug.
News of the arrest was reported by the local outlet Cayman Marl Road, who have added that the pair were charged on July 12, and have since pleaded guilty and paid a $1,000 fine.
They will not be facing any further charges, the outlet has reported. A representative for the model told E! News: "Gigi was travelling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license. "It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017.
