Forgotten Man City goalkeeper Zack Steffen set for January transfer after injury nightmare

Steffen signed for City in 2019 for around £7m after impressing in the MLS at Columbus Crew, immediately spending a year on loan at Fortuna Dusseldorf in the Bundesliga.
On his return to City, Steffen spent two seasons as Ederson's number two under Pep Guardiola, making 21 appearances. After City made the move to sign Stefan Ortega, Steffen was sent out on loan to Middlesbrough in the Championship in an attempt to play regularly and force his way into the USA's 2022 World Cup squad.
While that was unsuccessful, he made 45 appearances for Boro as they reached the play-offs under Michael Carrick. Now fit, MEN Sport understands he is set to leave and return to the USA and sign for Colorado Rapids, ending his frustrating spell at the Etihad.
