set an all-time record for daily infections, at 1.4 million, and also for test positivity, at 26%, per Johns Hopkins University.Fauci went on to reference statements he made last year in which he said Covid would likely not be eradicated, but controlled, becoming an endemic problem, rather than a pandemic.“It’s no way, I believe, likely – I mean, aspirational, but not likely – that we’re going to eliminate it because, A.) it has a high degree of transmissibility; B.) variants arise; and C.) there are so many people that are unvaccinated.
