Famous Amos' Wally Amos Passes Away at 88, Cookie Mogul Dies Following Battle with Dementia

Wally Amos, the founder of the famed and beloved cookie brand Famous Amos, has sadly passed away at the age of 88.

His children said in a statement, via CBS News, “Our dad inspired a generation of entrepreneurs. With his Panama hat, kazoo, and boundless optimism, Famous Amos was a great American success story, and a source of Black pride.

It’s also part of our family story for which we will forever be grateful and proud.” Keep reading to find out more… The site reports that he died “peacefully” at his home on Wednesday (August 14) after a battle with dementia.

He was surrounded by loved ones, including his wife Carol, and kids Sarah, Michael, Gregory and Shawn.
